A strong topical anesthetic is applied to the skin before and during the procedure. In rare cases, some people may feel a bit of discomfort. If you have heard stories of severe pain, either the anesthetic was weak or it was not left long enough.
This varies greatly from client to client, depending on various factors including but not limited to: skin type, aftercare, and daily skincare regimen, with a wide range of 1-2 years. Generally, re-treatment is recommended every 10-12 months to maintain the optimum look. If you have heard of longer durations from others, it simply isn't true, at least not with an appearance maintained similar to the original application.
The initial, superficial healing will take about 7-10 days, during which you will need to be careful to follow instructions exactly! After this, it takes about 4-6 weeks for the entire healing process, after which you can schedule your re-touch appointment.
